ASSISTANT HEAD ELECTRICIAN

The AHE will assist the Head Electrician in all areas of technical execution of the lighting design and related electrics work.

Responsibilities Prior to Load in:

1. Read script and familiarize yourself with production concept

2. Assist HE in developing buy lists, rental lists, and color cut lists.

3. Assist HE in developing circuit plots -- be familiar with all of the shows circuiting and patching

4. Work with lighting Practicum TA on assuring that all equipment is available on the load in date

5. Familiarize yourself with load-in schedule (order of operations)

6. Make sure there is a sufficient stock of cue lights and running lights

7. Confirm that road box is adequately stocked with tools, lamps, etc. for load in

Responsibility during Load-in:

1. Supervise specific task groups as specified by HE.

2. Hang, circuit, and patch instruments as per designer’s drawings and HE's direction

3. Assist HE during dimmer check and subsequent trouble shooting

4. Install cue lights and running lights as needed

5. Act as head focuser during the focus call. The AHE will usually be the one on top of the ladder.

Duties during Technical rehearsals:

1. Be available during tech week for touch up calls as needed.

2. Assist HE in any addition electrics work to be done this week.

Duties during strike:

1. Be familiar with strike operations prior to strike date.

2. Assist HE in supervising the restoration of equipment to storage conditions

3. Supervise filing of all reusable color

4. Participate as member of general strike crew
