UW-Madison Job Description--Light Board Operator

Responsibilities prior to load in:

1.Meet with advanced lighting TA to become familiar with light board operation

2.If needed, set up additional practice time with the TA

Responsibilities during tech rehearsal:

1.Operate light board during level setting session to be determined by LD and SM

2.Operate Light Board during all technical rehearsals

3.Operate light board during dimmer check before each run through

4.Work with deck electrician on maintaining show during tech week

5.Other electrics department work as determined by HE and LD. This could

Include touch up focus, adding or moving units, changing of gel, etc..

Responsibilities during run of show:

1.Operate light board during all performances

2.Operate light board during dimmer check before each performance, except on 2

show days

3.Work with Deck electrician on daily show maintenance:

replacement of burnt lamps and color, refocusing of units that have dropped,

etc.

4.Report to stage manager for show calls

5.Report serious maintenance problems to HE or their assistant

Responsibilities at strike:

1.Participate on general strike crew under supervision of HE
